Fasih Bokhari was a former Pakistan Navy Chief. He is born in British India on 8 March 1942. In 1973, Lt. Bokhari was sent to France where he attended the École Militaire (a French naval war college) and graduated with a staff course degree in 1975. He became the Chief of Naval1997 Staff in the year but he resigned in 1999. He Belongs to a Shia family. He was commissioned in the Pakistan Navy in the year 1959.

Fasih Bokhari Education

Fasih Bokhari was born in India but after the separation of Pakistan India, he moved to Pakistan with his family. He started his education in Pakistan. He completed his Primary and secondary education. He completed his matriculation from Islamabad. In 1959 he joined the Pakistan Navy. After joining the Pakistan Navy he went to many places for training. He went to Britannia Royal Naval College in the United Kingdom to complete his Navy training. He also went to Turkey where he learned many things at Naval Academy in Turkey.

Fasih Bokhari Career in Navy

He joined the Pakistan Navy in 1959. He completed his navy training in Turkey and the United Kingdom. He was appointed as a midshipman when he joined, and after completing his training he was promoted to Sub-Lieutenant. He spent more than 30 years in the Pakistan Navy.

He was part of Pakistan during the Pakistan-India wars and the Kargil War. Due to his good performance, he was promoted to Lieutenant in 1969 and joined Hangor.

Due to his good work in the 1971 war, he was awarded Sitara-e-Jurat after the 1971 war. In 1973 Pakistan Navy sent him to France to study at École Militaire where he studied more about the Navy and naval Wars. He also studied at the National Defence University.

In 1975 he was promoted to Lieutenant-Commander and in 1978 he was promoted to Commander. Fasih Bukhari became chief of naval staff on 1 January 1997.

In the year 2011, he was appointed as the Chairman of National Accountability Bureau (NAB)
