Allama Aqeel Turabi is one of the powerful Shia Allama of Karachi. He was born in the year 1934 in Hyderabad Deccan British India. His father Allma Rasheed Turabi is also a Shia Allama, Poet, and Orator. He and his whole family lived in Karachi Pakistan.
Allama Aqeel Turabi Education
Allama Aqeel Turabi started his education in Hyderabad Deccan British India. And passed his Intermediate from Karachi. He also got Islamic education. His Father Allama Rasheed Turabi was a Shia Scholar. Hence, his father taught him Islamic education because he wanted Allama Aqeel Turabi to become an Islamic Scholar and Orator like him.
After some time he moved to Iran to study in Hawza ‘Ilmiyya Qom, in the year 1952 he spent a decade there gaming Islamic education. His teacher was The Grand Mujtahid Sayyed Hossein Ali Tababataei Borujerdi. After spending time in Qom he Moved to Najjaf. He took part in many Islamic seminars.
He learned Arabic and Persian Language when he was in Najjaf and Qom. Allama Aqeel Turabi received more than 13 Ijazahs from Iraqi and Irani Ayatollahs including Syed Ayatollah Imam Khomeini, Leader of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, Supreme Leader Ayatollah Syed Ali Khamenei, Ayatollah Syed Muhammad Roohani and many other Ayatollahs.
Allama Aqeel Turabi Came back to Pakistan After 18 years. His father told him to come back to Pakistan. He has also visited England because he was appointed as the representative of The Grand Mujtahid Ayatollah Hakeem.
Allam Aqeel TUrabi Works for Shia Comunity
Allama Aqeel Turabi always wanted Shia and Sunni to live together and not spread hate about each other. He Always focuses on that issue in his Majlis in Muharram and other speeches as well.
After the death of his father, he was appointed to recite Majlis in place of his father. he has recited at many places in Karachi including Nishtar Park Majlis, Hussainia Sajjadia, and many other places in Karachi. He also addressed Sham-e-Ghariba Majlis. He has also traveled to many other countries for majlis Including the UK, USA, and many other African countries.
Allama Aqeel Turabi Death
Allama Aqeel Turabi died In April 2009 in Karachi. A few years before he had an attack of paralysis. he died in a hospital in Karachi. He was in a coma for some months. He was buried in Wadi-i-Hussain graveyard.
