About Afshin Ellian
Afshin Ellian is a well-known Shia (Muslim) professor, poet, and philosopher who was born in the capital city of Iran, Tehran. He was also a critic of political Islam with expertise in International Public Law. He was born in the year of 1966.
Afshin Ellian Education
Efshin Ellian started his schooling in the capital of Iran when he was 5 years old. He completed his early education in the same city. After his education, he started journalism in Iran and he was considered one of the most famous and influential journalists in Iran.
Afshin Ellian moved to the Netherlands
After the Islamic Revolution in Iran Afshin didn’t find Iran as a safe place for him and his family. So, he decided to move to the Netherlands and in the year 1989 finally left Iran and moved permanently to the Netherlands.
Education in the Netherlands
Ellian continued his education in the Netherlands where he studied at Tilburg University. The university was known as the Catholic University of Brabant back in 1966. He graduated in Public International Law and he also obtained a Criminal Law and Philosophy degree from the same university in the Netherlands.
He didn’t stop his education here.
He completed his Ph.D. from South Africa in the field of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission and he got his first job as an Associate Professor of Jurisprudence at Leiden University in year 2005.
