Murad Ali Shah started his education in Karachi. He went to Saint Patrick’s High School and completed his Matriculation from there. For his intermediate education, he went to D. J. Sindh Government Science College. He was admitted to NED University where he was a silver medalist. He did a Bachelor of Engineering and completed his education in Civil Engineering. He got a Quaid-e-Azam Scholarship and went to the United States to study at Stanford University. He completed a master’s degree from Stanford University.

In the 2024 Elections, he won a seat in the provincial assembly. On February 26, 2024, he was appointed as the chief minister of Sindh.
